Dr. Rahul C Mehta leads Skincare R&D for Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie Company. Over the past 17 years in skincare leadership roles, he is committed to creation of multi-modality evidence-based skincare products backed by robust clinical data and a thorough understanding of their mechanisms of action. His passion is to address skin quality concerns by enabling skin’s natural regenerative processes to provide physiologically balanced skin rejuvenation. He is a strong proponent of bringing transparency to cosmetic product development and claim substantiation process.

Previously, Dr. Mehta led CMC efforts for antisense oligonucleotides at Isis Pharmaceuticals (now Ionis) from 1995 to 2005, leading to FDA approval of first-in-class antisense oligonucleotide drug. From 1990 to 1995, Dr. Mehta served on the Pharmacy faculty at University of Kentucky, focusing on development of injectable biodegradable polymeric delivery systems.
